can i use an xbox one controller?

I'm actually wondering the same thing. I have an Xbox 360 PC adapter, I've never run into any problems using it with this game. I get the Xbox One PC adapter, and it doesn't recognize the One controllers.

It's a shame too, since I absolutely adore the feel of them.

i have looked online and done what they said but it wont have it and the controls for the game are really strange

connect 360 controller with usb then click play for the sonic game from the steam client and then click configure (it will lauch the settings) go to controls select player 1 controller and select 360 controller (you will need to redefine the controlls of the 360 controller before you play), then you are done

I am using a One controller, so yes. Have you checked the controller with other games? If it works there I don't know what the issue is here. If not, you are probably not running windows 10, and have to download the drivers for your computer to recognize the One controller manually, after which it should work just like a 360 pad.

it works with ac4 and i have done what someone said to do but all i get is either remove or keyboard so i dont know if i need to do anything else adn i am running win 10

I also have trouble getting my Xbox Wireless controllers (connected via Bluetooth) properly running. Everything seems to work, but the accleration buttons on the back of the controller. I'm using windows 11. Already tried many things, found to controller issues concerning this game.

I use a wired X Box for PC controller and it works perfectly.

I've upgraded to Windows 11 - my X-box controller still work.
