Speed Hacking?
I've played this game on other ports long enough to recognize what speed hacking in this game looks like. And matchmaking seems to be swarming with these guys, you can't even enter one game anymore without some guy instantly ahead enough to put you in catch-up respawn before you can even get off the starting line with max boost. Are people going to do something about this?

Not my experience and I have over four times your hours, I have raced a few obvious hackers but only a few. 'Swarming' would imply overwhelmed, which I do not agree with at all. The people who are worst are the ones with shocking connection, touch them and you will be sent all over the map, you sure you are not just lagging yourself? So you see on your screen people move super speed, but they are not, just you lagging.

I don't think I have personally seen a hacker in this game. This game has quite a few skills to master :P

Game speed hackers do exist, but the thing is, cheaters are rare here. To say that there's a ton of them is a flat-out lie.
Nightcat Jul 25, 2016 @ 2:01pm
As PeeJay said, cheaters are rare on this game, and fortunately every speed/item hacker I had the chance to see on this game got bored fast (as is expected from someone who cheats) and didn't return.
Take in mind that the fact of ending "DNF" in certain tracks when playing against experienced and pro players is pretty normal. They know the game so well and they know how to take advantage on every track. That's why I enjoy this game so much: I feel I'm always learning new things to put in practice :D

My beef with this is that I run the game on the lowest settings possible and get no lag in matchmaking. Earlier today I had to quit a match because I got rammed from behind by a speed hacker on Temple Trouble so hard that I flew over the transform ring, out of bounds, and respawned after it so I was stuck in boat mode. I was on the starting line when this happened too. I didn't even get a chance to race.

That temple trouble incident is not new, could be as you said, or could be also a lag bump. Also, sometimes (if the player who is in front of you doesn't make a boost start and you don't notice) you bump him, then someone bumps you from behind. As a result, crazy bumps can happen, launching you backwards or forward at a pretty weird speed :P
PD: running the game on lowest settings won't put you safe from lag bumps, lag bumps happens for the bad ping. I saw players who can't run the game properly (low fps, regarding to graphic card limitations) and you only see them going slower, that's all.

Well if it's not new then I suppose I'll stay off matchmaking and just find some friends to play with.

People like me, Nightcat, and Time Warner Lag a.k.a. PeeJay Bonobo know how to take advantage of every map and know the best strats to shaving off the most time. Good thing to do is to take a look at videos on how players can get the best times on Time Attack, watch some of the pro-Transformed Community Tournament videos, and read some online guides in order to get a better understanding of the game.

Sometimes it's your computer not running the game right, the first time I got online I was running max settings witch made my game slower then it should run, and people like drove away lightning fast. Loading screens and other prompts can start late too, like the race started for everyone else before you glitch, that sometimes happens to people that have fast computers as well. There is a ton of broken things about this game and to be fair the devs gave up on trying to fix this game years ago. They would have to recode the hole game to fix the optimization.

To make it more clear this game runs like dog crap for almost everyone, best card still = runs like dog crap. I have no idea why somethings are coded like they are, even allstar mode for some tracks will cause a endless respawning garbage, Not falling of the track = falling of the track.

And much more.

frankly, i originally thought that cheating was some sort of thing, however upon upgrading my connection, i found aesthetic glitches and occurances of plays indeed appearing to "warp ahead".....fact being that i would have appeared the same in cases that i was leading the pack so to speak.

You do know that at the start off the race you can attain a boost even without the bonus reel? right?

It would seem that the skill bar is exceedingly high for this title, i think that i have only ever seen one cheater in all the time i've played, which is golden. because it can really spoil the game for us.

lets hope that speedhacks aren't being used, it's just lame at the end of day :/

I gotta show you guys something.

What the original poster most likely saw is pure skill. THIS is one of two true ways people can speed hack.

Infinite boost hacks. The other involves Cheat Engine.

That's actually a very interesting guess because I'm wondering if the game speed isn't deteremined by your fps like melee or smth
