You could follow Paul's moves from this run. Release 3rd lvl boost where he does and keep right race line. I understand it can be very infuriating with bots, but this map isn't that hard once you get it ;) Good luck, man!
Still found it to be one of the buggiest maps in the game which made me hate it. The music, effects and the map itself isn't bad it's just the collision that is horribly done in the map.

Okay, I understand that Burning Depths has turns and corners up the wazoo that require at least 2-3 handling to get by, but that's the only reason it would be difficult. At least, you went through that World Tour mission anyway.
Burning rangers is in no way buggy. Once you learn how to boat mode it's easy to pass.
Sunshine on the other hand, features long straight areas which makes it easy to get shot with weapons and harder to drift.
