How active is the online?

Hi guys, I apologize if this has been asked before, but how active is the online? Can I expect to always find races or only on peak hours, like weekends and such?

This is my favourite racing game, and it still has a surprisingly active online on xbox, thanks to backwards compatibility. Most days at night and all day on weekends you can find lobbies.

Apparently the pc versions has a few extra characters, and it'd give me a excuse to complete world tour again, but I'd love if the online was still somewhat active, even if just on peak hours.

The game isn't dead, but you may still find empty lobbies from time to time so calling it "somewhat active" is a fair description

It usually goes for 5$ during sales so waiting for one is a good idea

There are people playing this game almost everyday and even full lobbies happens! I would say it's active enough : )

Cool! I was between this game and Sonic Team Racing, but it seems that STR's online is "dead".
So I will wait for sale

Although this discussion ist about 2 weeks old - most of the time I try to join a lobby there's just nobody there. Most of the times I'm the only one in a lobby, keep waiting and nobody comes in. I've seen the steamcharts link above and I'm really surprised that there were about 100 people playing within the last 48 hours. Sometimes there are 2,3 or 4 others in the lobby. But most of the time I am alone.

There are other games in the same genre that are more active but this game is rather unique due to it's Transformation mechanic which is a huge part of the gameplay and I don't know other games which have something like that besides Diddy Kong Racing which was on the N64

Don't worry, games are running. Most racers just tend to be active at certain times. In my case, late in evening and night.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is another very good kart racer however it's not on PC
