Suddenly locked at 30fps
Hello.

I recently bought a new monitor due to my old monitor finally breaking. However my computer isn't that powerful but I somehow got the game running at a smooth 60fps quite a while ago.

However since my old montior was so old, this new monitor is five times more powerful which I believe is pushing my computer to it's limits.

I used to be able to run the game at 60fps but now it's suddenly dropped to 30. It might be the resolution?

Here's my specs:
CPU: Core i7-870 quad 2.93ghz
GPU: Radeon HD 5570 1024mb
RAM: 8 gb DDR3 667MHZ
Monitor: LG 24MP48HQ-P 23.8inch

Any help would be much appreciated :)

I'm too lazy to go into too much detail but usually things like this happen when your GPU settings have the game locked to a lower framerate. Check your v-sync settings, ideally you want it either application controlled or off. Also, check the config at the startup of Sonic racing, and turn off v-sync. Config>Advanced>V-Sync OFF

It doesn't really matter what PC specs you have, this is a GPU issue.

Yeah my GPU is extremely weak compared to everything else that's for sure. By V-sync settings would that be with my monitor? Where would I change it? Also I turned v-sync off via the config menu for the game itself.

Well that's good, but your video card might still be forcing it. You don't know how to access your video card settings? That's kind of sad man.

Right click the desktop, you should either see an entry for your video card settings, or click properties, depends on your os.

Lower the resolution to that of your old monitor
