= 533

but safe code is 4 digits format. enter 533 and press enter on safe's keypad. it will get wrong number.

i smack my head at the wall for for 6 hours... SIX. on how to interpret the puzzle and calculate into 4numbers i tried every way i can come up with but no success. so i gave up.

and it FORCE me to do one thing that i hate the most. look up solutions from internet.

and it 0533.....

WHO F*CK gonna know that you have to add zero infront of that???????

yeah genius. give us a math puzzle that sum up into 3digits. but the code in 4digits. so you have to F**KING add zero in front of it to turn it into 4digits.

Yeah, it's a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzle. All the other ones are pretty good though. Just this outlier that I don't understand how it made it through QA

Im gonna play devils advocate here. If a 4 code safe has a code and you know 3 of the numbers most safe companies default 0 as a number for the code. Honestly i wouldve guessed it was actually 0533 based on it being a 4 digit code. But hey the math was bs so

I def had to look it up, honestly ive had to look up every puzzle on hard mode, but when you see the solution it does make sense.

Skill issue. Math comes out to 533, lock needs a 4 digit code, thus it naturally needs a leading 0, as 0533 is the only 4-digit number that is equal to 533. I was thrilled when that turned out to be the solution, bravo to the devs. Don't select Hard Mode if you're going to balk at a bit of sneaky lateral thinking, is my suggestion.

This one doesn't make sense though. Nothing points to it being a 0, and nothing points to it having to be the first number. What it leads to is someone going through tons of iterations of different ways to interpret the "all rooms" clue, to make the math add up. Which does in fact have other interpretations that ends up in a 4 digit number, only for it to be wrong.

I think this is a bad puzzle, and a massive outlier because the other puzzles were fun and made me feel smart.

Yes it does. When your calculations are right, and you end up with 533, ((8x2)x33)+5 = 533. Knowing you need 4 digits because it's a safe who needs 4 digits and the letter in Room 107 says "X X X X" at the end, it's 0533. Otherwise your calculations would have ended at 5330 which you can't reach following the calculation. 5330 is 10x more than 0533.

So what 5330 is 10x more? It's a number sequence not a scalar.

yeah it totally makes sense. people keep saying bad game design even though they are the ones who are just bad at these games.

I aced every single other puzzle in the game besides this one, they're not very hard. It's an outlier in either design or difficulty, and should probably be changed to better fit the difficulty curve of the other puzzles on hard, which was fine.
