No Game of the Year nomination?
How the actual f**k did Silent Hill 2 remake not get into Game of the Year but DLC for Elden Ring did? I love Elden Ring, I have over 1400 hours in that game - the most hours I have plugged into any game ever in my 47 years on this planet - and I absolutely adored the DLC but surely the DLC should be in it's own category? I get why Metaphor: ReFantazio is there, I get why Black Myth: Wukong is there (there would literally been people with pitchforks hunting down Geoff Kealey with this omission) but Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth? Really now? The one is DLC and the other was a commercial flop. Come on what leg are you trying to pull here?

Calm down, SH was nominated for 5 entries. It might win a couple.

The nominations are from a hundred or so selected gaming “journalists”. These awards are nothing but the collective opinion of a select few hundred people. Not sure who crowned them the ultimate arbitrators of what the entire gaming public should consider their favorite games.

Who... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... cares. You like the game ? You dislike the game ? At the end of the day why should you care what and how many awards SH2R will get ? Does it matter ? Does it change how you have enjoyed or not the game ?

It is nominated in 5 categories, that is more then great. Yeah, it got snubbed in the main category but that is most likely due to it being a Remake. Not a big deal, I still hope it wins 1 or 2 rewards.

Who cares? Does anyone actually watch The Game Awards for the Awards? I thought we were only watching the Game Awards for the new game announcements and world premiers and stuff. I'm there to watch trailers of new games. I couldn't care less about nominees and awards.

What does a game doing well financially or not have to do with it being good? FF7 Rebirth is amongst the best games of the year regardless of how well it did or did not sell.

With all that said, we really need to stop giving the game awards etc any attention.

I'm willing to accept that it's not there for game of the year, given that it is nominated in other categories, like the genre it's under.

However, I am confused that there is a DLC nominated. As well as Balatro that well just looks like a card game.

I agree about Erdtree but FF7 Rebirth absolutely deserves a spot. Balatro though...

It's fine. Silent Hill 2 (2024) will eventually win the #StutterStruggle GOTY award. It got a nomination since its release.

Because it's not entirely new thing, being a remake, and people handling the awards are just tired of them?

Corporations and advertisers crowned them. So gamers absolutely have to dismiss their bought opinions. And don't forget how Keighly tries to trademark words "game award/s" so nobody will dare to make any other game awards outside of his corporate-funded bubble. Somehow this ♥♥♥♥ doesn't get mentioned.

The game is still good regardless of if it wins an award or not.

The game not being nominated doesn’t mean its a terrible game.

The combat is horrible, Unfortunately Konami did very little to innovate instead they kept the same boring outdated combat that is clunky and unfun, overall its a chore having to take down every enemy with a whole mag on their legs.

The animations isn't good either they are very cartoonish, I just don't get why they couldn't do motion capture on those animations so Its easier to see when they start to attack, right now there's constant frame skipping, invisible walls in different segments you can't shoot through holes or paths that you crawl or climb through which is lazy.

that In my opinion is a massive deduction, Hence why its not a worthy game of the year nominee

The franchise needs some advertisement, some hype would come in handy for future remakes. Honestly this whole genre does.

WHAT CHICANERY! FOR YEARS, DLCS HAVE NEVER COUNTED, BUT NOT OUR FROMSOFT! ANYTHING FOR PRECIOUS FROMSOFT! SILENT HILL 2 BLEW EVERYONE'S EXPECTATIONS OUT OF THE WATER AND THE $40 DLC GETS TO BE A NOMINEE? WHAT A SICK JOKE!
