I understand the fear of spending "so much money" and not to know what you get. But here me out: if you (and many others) don't buy the game, Konami will say SH2remaek is not "succesful enough" and we may never get another remake of any other SH game, just because we "the fans" were too suspicious and afraid not to get the game we wanted.
80 bucks for the game plus the score is not that much nowadays. Other AA/ AAA games come for same prizes or much more ... 70 just for the core game is a bit much, I agree.

I always liked Akira Yamaoka's music and I loved Silent Hill 1 & 2 and I want to support the devs and show my respect to everybody involved, making this game -the actors weren't mentioned in any discussion here, I think...

These were my thoughts as well, until I learned of hit detection's involvement in the game.
I have no problem spending 80$+ to support and show appreciation to Silent Hill and the OG team (even including bloober and konami) but not hit detection.

I don't personally preorder games, with only a very small handful of exceptions. Those are: Certain first party Nintendo games (mainline Marios, Zeldas, etc.,) Id-developed singleplayer focused first person shooters (they have literally never made a single game I didn't love,) Yu Suzuki developed games (because I'm just weird and that man apparently cannot make a game I don't love,) and games I personally backed on Kickstarter or the like, which by definition I've essentially pre-purchased because I wanted those games to exist and they wouldn't otherwise.

But I am very much anticipating it, I think it looks great thus far, SH2 is one of my most beloved video games of all time that I've always wanted to see remade, and, assuming when we see even more gameplay the game is stable and performant, I will definitely be buying and playing it this year for Halloween. :)

Didn't get the deluxe (I wanted the OST) just so Konami doesn't think they can get more money putting in silly hats. I really don't get people who pay extra for costumes of any kind in single-player games. The "play 2 days early for more $$$" is also a śhitty practice that I don't want to reward.

The hats are laughably awful. Do they think this is TF2?
It was hilarious to see Konami describe playing the game 2 days early as Early Access, as well.

I was going to pre-order, but I changed my mind when I saw the new character designs. They basically just told us that they don't understand the original game and they're just taking advantage of the SH2 name to sell their own crappy fan fiction.

It doesn't necessarily have to be on Steam, he can preorder the game from Green Man Gaming or any other key selling site as well. Or he might be a console gamer.
