RE3R was awful as a remake, and RE2 had its B scenario practically cut so the original ended up with the better story
But still much better whatever Silent Hill is post-4 (with only Shattered Memories being good if you count it as a spin-off experimental thing)
How exactly would it be amazing? By turning SH into RE? This is exactly what Konami tried to do with later SH games and this is exactly why SH serie eventually died. SH and RE always were different series.
Besides, do not overpraise Capcom more than they deserve. Forgot their latest 'hits', like Re Verse or Exoprimal?
RE3R is absolutely amazing for the 10 bucks I paid for it. I can tell you that much.
And I didn't care much for Resident Evil until I played RE2R.
Even back then the originals left me cold.
It has to do with Konami's ♥♥♥♥♥ management and there not being any true innovations for the series and just trying to rehash the same concept for a story over and over again. Any innovation that was made was both half assed and as well very poorly recieved.
And I'm not saying that sarcastically or anything
We love the old classic Konami ips, but there's a reason fans are skeptical because modern Konami just can't be trusted
Capcom almost ended up like that and made a decent come-back imo, I really want Konami to do the same
Exoprimal can be quite fun if you get the chance to play it on gamepass
But yeah they focused way too much on the live-service model for the game and then on top of the service model they charged a high price tag for the game
Could of been much better if it went the EDF route
Nemesis was the biggest disappointment for me, especially going from the tyrant in re2 remake, nemesis was just a bunch of scripted stuff
Both games also disappointed me with the lack of spiders, but re2 remake I actually consider one of my favourite RE games of all time
I was skeptical of it being third person and wanted it to be like REmake 1, fixed camera angles ect but it ended up being my 2nd fav RE
