Best armor currently

Been scouring the wiki trying to find what goals I should be working towards in terms of gearing. From what I can tell, all of the best armor currently comes from magic crafting and hillwen engineering, is that correct or is that wrong?

Yes, but also no. The "Best" armors come from various gachas, as several of them have multiple p2w effects on them, such as Special Forest Ranger outfit, Special Elemental Harmony, and Special Imperial Knight.

If we're talking pure stats that are non-gacha, the best armors would generally be "Refined" armors, or Ceann Bliana-series items. There's a few other ones, but all of them require tremendous amounts of grind to get.

I'm still green with this game. But I don't agree with you on that. Gacha stuff can almost never be upgraded and the extra effects they add don't really seem to be worth the loss on Protections. The Ultimate Geas Edge set can net more Protection then the Special Forest Ranger outfit. Won't speak for how hard the grind is for it.

Gachas don't need to be upgraded. They already come with stats as if they've been 5/5 Upgraded.

I think Ceann Bliana-series items are somewhat better than most gacha gears, except it's much more difficult to get.
