I want to recommend this game because of the wonderful memories I made back in 2010-2012, this game was a major part of my highschool life and I had a blast with it before all the new changes they've made. Older players have left, leaving nothing behind but the judgmental and super inclusive community of cash whales and gacha addicts behind.

If you're not wearing an elaborate outfit made strictly from Gacha clothing pieces, or wielding the obscenely more powerful gacha weapons with the fanciest pets and mounts, you're not going to find a welcoming community here any longer. New player, just starting out? Good luck honey, you're going to be soloing everything and that's if the sheer scale of all the things you can do doesn't scare you off. I really did used to love this game, back when people would actually talk and help each other- even the friendly rivalries that would spring up all over the place.

Years ago, this was the number 1 MMO that I'd recommend to anyone but Nexon, like they do with every game they touch, screwed it up big time by making it one giant cash grab and yes, while all the main game features are Free to play, all the wonderful Quality of Life touches (Like making a guild, placing guild stones, anything related to your homestead or fashion, extra storage bags for more inventory, pets and mounts, etc.) are all locked behind either NXCash or Pon paywalls.

I cannot in good mind recommend this game to anyone anymore as it's a highly predatory game relying heavily on the few cash whales still left that are spending the hundreds of thousands needed to keep it running.

Used to love this game but now its meh, or rather its just dated, supposedly theyre remaking it. Lets see how that goes...

Been playing this game on-and-off since 2008, and since then, I've seen this game have a lot of ups and downs - but there is no other game really like this one. Its a free to play model for a game with a lot of lore and extensive customization, lots of skills and talents and fun music barding stuff - a lot to offer, and for the most part the community and GMs have been really nice. I've met long-time friends on this game, and I'm only hoping for the best for Mabinogi Eternity and their Mobile version of the game that recently popped out in Korea.
