...ehhh, what I mean to say is I think the non-tail rooms will also help interlock and figure out the puzzle, maybe. They PROBABLY do, I just haven't checked.
There should be between 26 and 28 total rooms out of the 36 needed to make a complete brand (since I can't recall off-hand if the mural room or the brand room count for this) ...

Which means that even if the pieces DO interlock, this puzzle would technically make 2 separate brands; Tail's tail AND the empty spaces remaining from a completed interlocking dungeon
Well the tail puzzle is pretty important and you can't bypass it without reading spoilers online. The route that goes through B00 can't be unlocked without the hint you get from solving this puzzle. It is possible to read the hint online instead of solving the puzzle but you can't randomly progress through the barrier in B00 without knowing the hint
That is an interesting theory about the non-tail rooms being helpful. I don't see how you could place them or get an info about the puzzle solution from them but maybe I'm missing something.
