Is there any way to restart/clear my file?
I haven't really played this game since it released.
I would like to start from the beginning.
Is there any way to do that. Am I just dumb?

Well, the easiest way is to disable Steam's cloud save support, then delete the game's save file (%LOCALAPPDATA%\void_stranger\save.vs); start the game and quit so it makes a new save file, then re-enable cloud saves, and that'll take care of it.

There is a way in-game, but it's intentionally well-hidden to prevent people from accidentally doing it, and you probably don't want to do that if you really just want to quickly start from scratch.

I'd prefer to just know the in-game way.
If I'm being honest. The fact that there isn't just a delete option is very silly.

well you need to get all the way to the bottom of the void first, so it's probably easier to just delete the files.

I don't think there's much reason to do that, though, since when you start over from the brand screen the only thing that really persists is the number of memory crystals you've gathered.

Well don't know how to go into the game files.
And honestly at this point I don't care enough to look up how.

Thank y'all for the help though. Sorry for wasting y'alls time.

in windows explorer you can type a file path, just go to c:\users\(username) and click the path to add \%LOCALAPPDATA% at the end
ALTERNATIVELY, Windows Key + R and type %LOCALAPPDATA% in the field that comes up

I appreciate the help. But I've already moved on.

I had assumed that was the case, but you're actually still here. Since that's the case:

The reason there isn't is because there's very little point in it. Having a "delete" option from and center would just lead to people doing it by accident and then being upset that there's no way to get their data back, and the only reason most people would want to delete their save data is so they could quickly get back to floor B001, but there are multiple ways to do that which will not wipe the other things tracked in your save data. Which floor you're on is arguably the least useful thing tracked in your save data.

I would just like to play from the first floor, because I don't remember the beginning of the game.
And if the only way to do that is go into game files, then I'll just waste my time on another game.

I just walked into a snake about 40 times. It never spawned me back on the first floor.

Hey Flawless, it sounds like you might be "voided" fall through a hole on the same floor 5 times. I think that might get you effectively what you're looking for.
