lazer or non?

hey i want to know what kind of main weapon people use the most and why they use them the most
right now i am useing lazer because ot got good range

I main rails mostly myself. I noticed people mostly seem to do plasma or lasers in the games that I have been in. I think being able to swap damage types ( t2 and up) makes it a bit to easy with some of the weapons as it removes their downsides.

Plasma for example might have slower rounds or shorter range compared to the others but it gets bonus damage vs shields and then can switch to kinetic rounds for hull bonus damage. Just too easy imo, but very effective.

Lasers which dont get a bonus vs anything have that pin point instant damage and can swap to EM helpng to drop shields godly fast expecially with their instant hit mechanic. Pulse lasers expecially seem to be very popular and powerful in t2 ( nearing t3 but no expereince there yet).

Overall I would think those 2 are the stronger weapon types with rails being good but less versatile with its thermal mod which helps negates the shield issues but not to the point of EM. Still super solid and can crush hulls though.

what kind of ship though i like the fighters and frigits dont like intercepters that much do to low hp and shilds

I fly a Fox M right now. I play a lot around the cloak so I went with armada as the extra time fits my stle better then a shorter but more durrable cloak that the vangard gives. Honestly from playing rail seems dead last in popularity and I would bet thats due to the ease of use lasers and the raw damage of plasma just kinda crushing rails usablity. Could be wrong though.

I love rails, it just seems to be more of a skill shot. But they seems to rock some decent damage. Lasers seems to put a hurting on shields then die off on hull damage. Then again I am only into tier 2.

Currently T2 and running a laser with EM mods, and the +4.5% damage mod for increase hull damage. I love the EM mod on the lasers. However, I do have to get increase EM resistance on my shield because plasma really hurt. Overall, I see a lot of plasma on interceptors and fighters. I usually only see other frigates go with lasers.

yup intercepters can not do that much dam with lazers so they need to go something else only frigits can do a lot of dam with lazers
