where to find alot of graphite

I know i recently complained alot about the destroyer grind but I've gotten used to the material grind, but...there is one thing that I'm really annoyed about
HOW COME I CAN'T FIND 1 GRAPHITE PLATE WHEN I FIND 100+ SILICON!!! WTF?!?!?1

Plz help, I need alot of graphite plates ASAP. I have all the materials ready (minus neodium and a couple million credits, but thats not the point) but i have NO graphite.

impure graphite is common from "valuable mineral" nodes (in terramorphing station & scrapyard sectors, among others). graphite plates can rarely be found in "cargo container" nodes in rank 1 areas. transports & smugglers can also drop them in all areas (also rare).

what are counted as scrapyard sectors? I found one impure graphite last time i dived into open space. Among other things that i also did (engaging scouts and cartel in cobalt mines...the usual).

salvaging mk2 tetroxide engines rank 14 gives you some graphite plates if you need them fast and have the credits

my last batch of salvages got me 1 plate because highest ship i currently have is a Hyena. So I can't realy purchase any high rank kits and salvage them.

little offtopic as well to this one - after the last update my games have gotten more and more laggy (Ping wise). Is everyone else experiencing this too? If not I better call my IP
