If you're having trouble launching Starbound after the 1.0 update, try the following:

"The game just doesn't load! There's no error message!"

Try deleting your entire 'Starbound' directory (C: -> Program Files -> Steam -> Steamapps -> common -> Starbound) and reinstalling via Steam.

"I'm getting an error message about missing "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll"

Your PC may have failed to install Visual C++ 2015. You can download it here[www.microsoft.com]! If you're unable to install it, please ensure that you've installed the latest service packs[support.microsoft.com] for your version of Windows.

MacOS Won't Launch Since Sequoia 15.1 Update

If you're encountering the above issue - don't worry, we're working on it!

In the meantime, please use the following workaround:
1. Open the Terminal on Mac, instructions: https://support.apple.com/guide/terminal/open-or-quitterminal-apd5265185d-f365-44cb-8b09-71a064a42125/mac

2. Type the following command (edit the installation location) and hit Enter:
codesign --force --deep --sign - [Starbound Installation Directory]/Starbound/osx/Starbound.app

Default installation folder (edit username)
codesign --force --deep --sign - /Users/[username]/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Starbound/osx/Starbound.app
