Custom races not appearing
I downloaded a few race mods and they don't appear in the character creator. Do I need to have Fracking Universe to get them to work?

I'm going to assume you know the basic requirement that any race mod requires a race extender mod, right?

Like say, the Xbawks character creation extender, to give more race slots.
Every race mod states one's required, but a lot of people don't realize that somehow, which's why i'm clearing this up just in case.

Only mods that say, they require FU require FU.

You need a character extender.

No, FU isn't needed, treat it as a seperate game than SB.

I would recommend against Xbawks
for one, it's very limited with only 20 or so slots, there is another that adds 100 slots,
and if you're anything like me, you'll fill that in a couple of weeks
for another, the layout of Xbawks is really messy, sure, if everything runs well you won't need to see it more than once
but many times I had to look around to find the skip intro mission check mark, only to realizing too late that I created a survival character and that can't be changed without deleting the character
so a little search, some mods may tell you to install Xbawks but you don't need to if you have another UI mod with more slots
(Bee Tea Dubs if some mod tells you to install quickbar menu, ignore it and install startdust core lib instead, the latter is the updated version while the former is discontinued)

here's a convenient link to the 100-slot extender, in case anyone wants it:
