This wouldn't be bad, if you could remove the madness, which you couldn't. As soon as you visited an Atropus planet, you were doomed. I like to personalize my characters, so when my Glitch character just takes his clothes off for no reason is completely out of character and I can't do anything about it.
Now, keep in mind this was in the past . I have a new FU save, and they seemed to have fixed that. Now you can make your own Quietus without visiting an Atropus planet. Albeit, I have not reached that point in my save. So all of the previous problems I mentioned could be fixed.
On top of that, Extraction Labs now needing Jolts of electricity. I haven't even gotten any sort of way to charge batteries on my latest save, so they're useless. Good luck getting anything done.
It's kind of making me want to uninstall the latest version and go back to a previous version a la Github.
I'd also like to see actual research discs being loot items (not just the condensed research but the actual 500 research disc, etc) on higher tier loot charts.
Maybe even add a guaranteed drop of research items/points for certain mobs (such as have minikog scientists drop research points/items)
In general, I like the research system, but this needs to be fixed. I also think it's the case that most early game things actually cost too few research points, I had an absurd surplus until near the endgame, when I started having to AFK farm them.
I played with FU before, but have now stripped it out of my modlist. I'm desperately looking for alternatives to FU's gear, planets, and races right now, and it's sad to see that no one's really made any simpler FU alternatives for a lot of those things.
Though I haven't seen any of those for quite a few updates.
yeah i just unsubbed all the workshop stuff and its vanilla again.... correct that i lost files but really i was ready to do a fresh run
The thing I dislike the most has already been mentioned, the research time gating. Annoying and pointless. I hate when I can feel the pace being artificially forced on me.
I also dislike that they, especially Sayter, have an odd perspective on "balancing" content.
However, the benefits of the mod far surpass the issues I have with it, so removing it is not an option for me. I do keep a backup version in case they ever go somewhere I am absolutely unwilling to put up with, which it may very well happen at this point.
I tried getting back into FU recently, everything was going well and I was really having fun up until the Erchius Mining Facility, the enemy spam in that mission is rough, thank ♥♥♥♥ that's optional. Instead of clever enemy placement, you get wailed on by 7 or so randomly placed enemies at the same time, it's not a very fun mission, I never died to it but it's kinda tedious.
