Workaround for Dreadwing mission death bug/glitch. Falling into nothing on respawn.

Hello,
I just encountered a bug/glitch that happened during the Dreadwing mission. I went into a tent and died. On respawn I was falling down to nothing and died. Since I died in some void of a place I lost a few items. Here's a video of it. Video .
I was playing Starbound and thought I was up for the challenge of the Dreadwing missing ( I wasn't). When I died I got a lovely death glitch and lost a good amount of stuff I had.

I've seen maybe 2 other comments saying they've encountered this as well but I wanted to add that you can stop yourself from dying. While you're falling if you click the BEAM button before you die it will stop you from falling and put you on your ship. Hope this helps alittle.

I just had the same situation happen to me. I died in the tent, then on respawn began falling through the map, only to die and lose all of my high value items. Developers, please fix this soon!

Is there any way to recover my items?

I didn't find a way to find the items unfortunatly. I think they end up being destroyed in that weird void area. Hope they find a fix for this.

Wow, still a thing 5 years later... Just happened to me. I saw a post about how if you run admin command during death you can get your stuff back but I think this no longer works as it won't let me run any commands at all. I just die and lose a bunch of pixels again with death animation showing 2 times. I lost so much ore....
