Fullscreen Resolution bug
When I get to the main screen (I know I'm very lucky to get that far apparently), I click options and go to 2560 resolution as that is native for me. I then click fullscreen and apply. When it does that it goes back to the main screen but I can't scroll the mouse down far enough to click anything again. I've remove my dual monitor and started it again with one and the same thing happens. Cannot play the game now as it is stuck on this resolution. I guess I could reinstall but the moment I change the resolution it's game over man.

I've basically got the same issue. My naitive resolution is 1920 x 1080, and previously, going into compatability settings and disabling scaling at high dpi settings would allow me to see everything, but now even that doesn't work. At fullscreen with my naitive resolution, everything is stupid zoomed in, like on the start screen, I can't even see any of the buttons or anything, or if i go fullscreen while in game, all i see is the HUD in the top right, and about 2/3 the item bar. In order to go full screen and actually see everything I have to lower my resolution to 1600 x 900, and it's rather annoying.
So I fixed my issue, turns out in my display options it was displaying stuff as 1.25x, and apparently unlike my other games, Starbound doesn't like that, so after lowering it to just no zoom, I was able to run Starbound Properly.

Articunno is on to something.

This appears to occur for those of us playing on a larger TV and use Display Scaling. If you set the game resolution to your TV resolution (1920x1080 in my case) and have scaling turned on in Window's Display Options (I set mine to 150%), the area the mouse is constrained to is reduced to a non-clickable section of the screen.

Taking a note from Articunno I was able to resolve this by:

1. Turn Display Scaling off (or set to standard 100%).
2. Launch Game, set resolution in settings to 1280X720. You're probably wondering why to turn the resolution down in the game, and there are two reasons: (1) to allow you to play the game with your Display Scaling turned on, and (2) for text / icons to be decipherable on screen. The game is not optimized for large screens with high resolution; Playing on a 50" TV with 1920x1080 resolution renders the on-screen graphics nearly unreadable.
3. Quit the game.
4. Turn your Display Scaling back on to your prior preference in Window's settings.
5. Relaunch game.

You should now be able to play the game without this error.

Yeah, that fixed it for me too, thx for that ! :steamhappy:
Still pretty stupid, because I have to lower my display zoom every time before starting the game...

Same issue, let me check the 1.25x thing.

Edit:
And, that fixed it. Wow, what a silly bug. Ah well. Thanks for the help!

So I had this issue, and disabling display scaling fixed it. For anyone who doesn't know, find the Starbound executable, go to properties, compatibility tab, and check the box that says "disable display scaling". See if that works for you.

So I found a way to stifle this till they get it fixed if you ALT+TAB out then close it down while your on desktop and start the game again it'll start (at least for me) the game on a low resolution I've only been able to get it to go to 1600x900 res without the malfunction. FYI I'm using windows 10 i don't know if it'll work on any other operating systems.

I have the same problem. I changed the file "starbound.config" in the "storage" folder of the game. Located in your steamapps folder. You can just change it if you just rename the file and put a ".txt" after the ".config"

There are two things you can change. Set "fullscreen" : false and try to set "fullscreenResolution" : [800, 600] as well.

Make sure to delete the ".txt" afterwards and you are fine. (If you don't see the ".txt" anymore, change the Windows Explorer settings so you can see all file extensions. It is off by default.)

I hope this fixes it. Play in windowed mode afterwards and wait until the developers have fixed the problem.
