Fatal Error: Access Violation Detected at 00007FF67FD806C9 (Read Of Address 0000000000000000)

I just Bought Starbound today and on my first launch after downloading it i get this error before hitting the Chucklefish logo (Report Title). I have tried reinstalling, setting compatibility modes, running administrator for both Steam and Starbound, I have also restarted my computer and updated my Drivers. I have even sent an Email asking for assistance but i expect no response.

I have seen posts saying it's pretty much unfixable unless it's patched by the Devs. But i spent money on it and i really want to play it. So i appreciate any replies trying to assist me. I'd like to add the game works when i don't launch it on Steam but when i launch it on Steam it doesn't. I want the Steam to work with it so i can connect to friends through Steam.

Well, have you tried reinstalling the game? Also what operating system is your computer (Windows, Mac, Linux, Etc?)?

Yes i have reinstalled it at least five time lol. and Windows 10

I'm getting the exact same problem on windows 10, thought it was my gtx 1070 sli setup causing trouble but still doesn't work with only 1 gpu.

EDIT: Just Fixed it , Disable NVIDIA's optimal settings in NVidia Geforce experience. It breaks the game

Some other people, including me, randomly get this error while playing, not when trying to launch the game. and it has nothing to do with how good the computer is, my pc is kinda crappy, but my buddy has fairly good pc and he gets the error just as often as i do when we play together and he hosts. It can happen when we are just walking around, it can happen when one of us join the other's game via steam, it can happen when we sit down on the cockpit and click on a planet, it can happen when we encounter a settlement, it can happen when we are teleporting....

There are old threads from years ago, about this access violation error, but none of the solution really work. Giving the game admin permission, deleting universe.chunks, reinstall the game... none of that worked for me.

Just letting you know, you are not alone in this. This is something the devs definitely need to fix, before this, no new content means a thing to those who are affected by this error.

Hrm. Bitdefender. I just turned off the "protection mode" and now I can play Starbound again. Seems that the antivirus is locking up some file/location that is throwing that access violation error...

I was having trouble with this error whenever I fullscreen-ed Starbound but this seems to fix it. Thanks so much :)
