Crash, can't start the game in 64 bit or 32bit...
Do note there's something fishy about the game files, when I download it, it tells me that it's 750MB roughly on steam, which is very odd, as it expands double it's size afterwards.

The executable on both the 32 and 64 bit is detailed 0.9.0 and 0.9beta in the description which is even weirder.

Also note... I uninstalled, reinstalled, this game more than 5 times, deleted the folders that contains the files and tried different drive, it crashes exactly right before the chucklefish logo loads, and you see a white square where the logo is.

I tried one of those fixes where you rename opengl32sw.dll to opengl32.dll and it works... At like 5 frames per second that is.

The last version that worked was almost half a year ago, I had frackin universe installed on it and a saved universe and save file, but I stopped playing for a long time.
So when 1.3.0 came out I unsubscribed to those mods erased the storage folder, try to ran the game and this problem that has been going on keeps happening no matter what.

As a result I uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted PC, etc.

I had the same issue with orignally having Frackin Universe installed, however my issue did not start until I uninstalled them to play with a friend. Even deleting everything didn't help so

Try turning off OpenGL Triple Buffering in video card settings. It seems to be a problem.

I think when you install frackin universe, it installed something else in the computer that when uninstalled broke any possibility of playing starbound until you can find out what that was.

Wtf it fixed it?

Triple buffering off by default, and vsync off by default.

It seems OpenGL Triple Buffering really was the issue.

I did this, still crashes on opening for me

I figured it out, its not the OpenGL Triple Buffering because mine was disabled with me it was a program called PlaysTV its installed with Its installed with the AMD gaming evolved.

I noticed when you try to load Starbound 32bit it comes up with an access violation thats not the graphics card, to may process are trying to access the data files at the same time or you don't have rights to access them. I noticed the PlayTV crashed last night and i had no problems running starbound but didn't put two and two together. I restarted my computer this morning and the problem reappeared, but this time when I opened starbound on the third shot PlayTV opened alittle window in the top left corner then it crashed.

Once I shut down the PlaysTV it started working again.
