Rotating pods

So i found these rotating pod things. What do they do?

I think they grant various temporary buffs/bonuses.

Press E on them and they give a buff or set you on fire, or kill you :D

Oh god the death pods .......... I don't even click on the big ones anymore, just shoot the small ones for the pixels.

Ya avoid the big ones. The buffs are bad and they kill you (me anyway) 50% of the time. They are evil.
