you expect a small indie studio spread out over the whole world to maintain dedicated servers for +80,000 people?
...in many other games players/guilds pay a monthly fee for their dedicated servers, plus there are few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ servers. also, they sold tens of thousands Terraria and Starbound copies. no excuses, considering there is an indie game like "King Arthur's Gold" that's still unknown, but with many servers, and a server browser (ah, and it has a good number of PvP modes, the same PvP they promised on Terraria centuries ago).
I really hate people who make comments like this, don't even waste your time typing it out if you're only intending to be a prick.
i know, but still... no server browser
It's not even a big deal.
Minecraft doesn't have server browser (except for LAN(?) and servers you save). You can create small text file, where you add IP and for which server it is. Same thing.
They'd need to host a bit of code somewhere that will take server registrations for the browser and then to send that information to any requesting client.. It doesn't seem like much but they would need a computer and network strong enough to handle all the registrations and requests and that costs money. Much easier/cheaper to just do direct IP.
At the end of the day, even if they don't include it (it's not like it's a priority for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beta), it will easily be implemented by modders, i'm sure.
