Starbound vs. Terraria
I already own Terraria, what's my incentive to purchase this as well?

It's better than Terraria... ;)

All the incentive anyone ever needs, Terraria is great, Starbound is even greater. I'm not joking.
think about terraria. now think about it with penguins, morph orbs, mechs, dramatic music on every eneny, and space travel. think of every star there on the game and you'll see new biomes. :I

Starbound for sure, Way more features, and...randomly generated: Planets, creatures, guns swords. ect

Copy/Past the IP. We needed to use Hamachi to connect with each other properly.

that's annoying. i abandoned terraria because of multiplayer. i don't really like games without servers, and i'm surprised they committed the same error by ignoring this in a new game.

you expect a small indie studio spread out over the whole world to maintain dedicated servers for +80,000 people?

...in many other games players/guilds pay a monthly fee for their dedicated servers, plus there are few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ servers. also, they sold tens of thousands Terraria and Starbound copies. no excuses, considering there is an indie game like "King Arthur's Gold" that's still unknown, but with many servers, and a server browser (ah, and it has a good number of PvP modes, the same PvP they promised on Terraria centuries ago).

Are there buildable base defense turrets in this game(IE laser, missile turrets)?
Avianyan 5 Des 2013 @ 4:56am
Do you people really have that much trouble buying both of them and enjoy both of them ?? ♥♥♥♥♥

Seeing how you want to be spoonfed information about the game, the game might not be for you anyway.

I really hate people who make comments like this, don't even waste your time typing it out if you're only intending to be a prick.

There are people/companies that sell dedicated Terraria servers.

It's not even a big deal.

Minecraft doesn't have server browser (except for LAN(?) and servers you save). You can create small text file, where you add IP and for which server it is. Same thing.

A server browser is more development time on something that will ultimately cost them money.

They'd need to host a bit of code somewhere that will take server registrations for the browser and then to send that information to any requesting client.. It doesn't seem like much but they would need a computer and network strong enough to handle all the registrations and requests and that costs money. Much easier/cheaper to just do direct IP.

Actually, the hardware behind master servers which distribute server lists isn't that significant.

At the end of the day, even if they don't include it (it's not like it's a priority for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beta), it will easily be implemented by modders, i'm sure.

Terraria without servers? What is he talking about? No friends? Forever alone? *jeez*

[ "King Arthur's Gold" that's still unknown, but with many servers, and a server browser (ah, and it has a good number of PvP modes, the same PvP they promised on Terraria centuries ago).]
