you need to get them back in your inventory and place them again

How do i get them back to inventory?

Face them and place them they should change direction towards you.

Sadly, and I hope you can change this later on, you manipulate every object using the manipulator item. Annyoing, I know.

I managed to change the direction of objects I was playing by moving myself around while preparing to place them.

Once an object is placed, you can get it back by attacking it with your matter manipulator or with a pickaxe.

I saw that the direction you face is the way that placed stations face, but there's a wooden support beam that smartly turned it self around when i placed it near-ish where i wanted it.

Also you can stack stations on other stations.

While having the object you want to place in hand/manipulator, press A or D to turn it about

How do you rotate? The question was never answered here. The direction an item faces is different than rotation.

I wanted to place a light in my ship that stand vertical. But when I try to place it, it has rotated 90 degrees . Instead of | it is rotated like __ It should be |
I don't know why this happened or how to rotate it 90s like it originally was

[EDIT]: I'm dumb. I didn't realize I picked up the same light beam that was also horizontal instead of vertical. Still, the ability to rotate certain items would be nice.

As far as I know, there are no rotating objects, hence things such as "Horizontal Light Beam" and "Vertical Light Beam".
You can switch which side an object faces (e.g. if a bed against a wall has the pillow closer to the wall or further from the wall.) not by where you are in relation to the object, but rather which way your character is facing, whether you are on the right side or left side being irrelevant.
You need to get in place mode and then hit that bracket []
