Server System Requirements and Recommendations
Upon the next patch I wish to start a dedicated server. However, it will be private and up to 8 people.
Does anyone know what resources are needed to run such an instance?
I understand the minimum requirements of the game, however, a server can fluctuate performance based on the load that's put upon it. ie 2 people logged in vs. 8 people playing in sand.

I'm curious if my 1.6Ghz Intel Atom 1GB RAM could run a dedicated for just a few clients.

I would like an answer to this though. I have the lowest end server on digital ocean which would be great to use as a startbound server.

**EDIT**

I have tested with a VM with Ubuntu running 1 core, 512mb of ram, and I can confirm playing single player works. 80% of the ram was used, but according to guides online (link below), you will be able to have 2 loaded worlds, with 2 players on 600mb of ram. Granted, it seems memory leaks are a bit of an issue, so you may have to restart you server more frequently due to the low ram, it is definitely playable. And from my finding, starbound server is CPU intensive, sometimes. aka, loading new worlds and such. A minor drawback, but ram trumps cpu in this case. Hope this helps.
