Idea: Use flags to bookmark planets

Why not? it'd put some cool use into flags other than to serve as some kind of decoration as maybe you could assign each of the flag versions different colors, say if one day someone ends up being potentially able to make a server where people of the same race would band together against others and whatnot.

Just an idea I wanted to pass on, might be good, maybe not, (i like to think it's atleast interesting in potential uses. Flags that is, in how they interact with the galaxy map) either way, I hope it atleast inspires better or cooler ideas!

At one point there were racial flags that were available in the 3d printer. Are these no longer in the game?

One of the dev's mentioned that they want to include the ability to mark planets so that you can find them again easily. So, you could have multiple tagged planets to you can easily find in navigation.

You need to craft them via fabric, and when I read the post, mainly hte part where it mentions the devs wanting to allow one to tag planets, I got the idea of... well this. I mean flags are cool, but if we could use them to tag worlds, it'd pretty much mean we'd always try to keep alot of the things at all times.

Much nicer to have that stuff in game rather than having to write down the coords.

Yeah I have to say, I want this feature more than any other right now. I don't need to be able to insta-teleport there like we can with our home planet, but a marker on the galaxy map would make setting up outposts and marking planets of interest SO much easier. If we could give the marker a name, that would also be superb.

All of my yes, I always use the flag as a mark at the beam in spot so I know that I've been there before maybe on a different character, it also act as landmark so I know when I have circled the planet. Adding the ability to use it as a real tag on planets would be awesome, as long as we also allowed to create a small note with it.
