Backup your Universe Folder in your Starbound/Griaffe_storage, if you want to keep it for later.
And than delete the whole Stuff in the Folder "universe",
Next time you start a Game or create a new Char.... the whole Universe will be new/reset

Just an addendum to clarify for simplicity, you can also delete the actual universe folder itself; the game will create a new universe folder automatically.

First, find the folder where you installed Steam. For instance, C:\Steam. From there, you go:

(steam folder) -> SteamApps -> Common -> Starbound -> giraffe_storage -> universe

Late response, I know, but I was sleeping.

Yes it does reset the Outpost if you get rid of the whole folder. Not sure if anyone already tried to delete just the xy-coördinate starting files to see if they can reset worlds only and not the outpost.

The universe anyway will give you the same worlds if you travel to the same coörds anyway. You just start off on a different planet with each character.

So, I just did this, and.. it didn't work.

I went into my Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\giraffe_storage folder, and moved the "universe" folder to my desktop. I started up the game, hopped onto a character I had played last night, dropped to the planet they were orbiting.. and saw blocks I had placed last night.

There's another storage folder off of the base Starbound folder; that one also has a universe folder inside of it, with a few world files in there. Should I delete that too, or what?

Try creating a supermassive black hole to collapse the universe on itself, it'll create an incredibly dense point mass that will explode outwards again, essentially resetting the universe.

This is an old thread.
The giraffe stuff is no longer used (or the koala for that matter).
Delete the universe folder from Starbound if you want to reset.

Bah. When I initially did a search on Steam, it showed only the last post, which had been made within the past day. I did delete the universe folder from the base storage folder, and that worked perfectly. Thanks!

May as well ask here, if I just wanted to delete the outpost progress from a previous character for a new one, which file do I delete?
