How do I get the recipe for baking a cake?

I'm on the mission where you must bake a cake for the bounty hunter. However, even though I have all of the ingredients, I haven't unlocked the actual recipe. I originally thought that it was because I required Pearpea Pancakes to make a cake, and there are no sources of eggshoot in my solar system, however this isn't the case. How do I unlock the cake recipe, as I have all ingredients but no recipe!

Erm, unless they changed it in Spirited version, you don't actually need to cook Pearlpea Pancakes to learn to cook a cake. Try buying Sugar, Milk and Egg from Terramart and either buy or find Wheat. One of those should teach you the cake recipe.

As for topic question, I believe Eggshot can be found on either snow or ice planets. (Can be wrong, though.)

Hmm, I have all the required items to create a cake, however haven't actually unlocked the recipe. It's possible I might need to "reloot" the wheat since I had found it before Spirited came out. I'll try it out, but to answer I already have all ingredients.

Yup, tried. It didn't work. Also no ice planets on my system so I'm somewhat stuck. :(

Updated the description, clearly eggshoot isn't the problem.

According to Starbounder, cooking Bon Bons (which only requires Sugar) will also teach you Cake recipe. Try it: hopefully it'll work for you.

(Starbounder's info can be outdated, though, and I can't easily verify it, since all my characters already know how to cook a cake. So, sorry if it turns out to be wrong.)

Alright, I'll look into it. I believe a dev while back had said the same.

I don't even have the bon bon recipe! Not sure what's up with the lack of recipes being not being unlocked when they should! I guess that's the price of playing early access.

I works fine for me I just craft the newest recipy that I unlock and the walla! A cake recipy

You didn't get Bon Bons recipe when you first get Sugar??

Yeah, looks like you either had a weird bug or triggers for certain recipes were broken in the latest update. Sorry I couldn't help
