how do i farm without a hoe?

its either unlocked or removed. i seen a blog on the starbound wiki saying its been removed. and i seen a video about farming but it requied a hoe. so is it been readded or is there a new way farm plants? i see no hoe in crafting.

Hoe is present in... Errrr... Either the crafting table or the metalwork station. In case of doubt, do like I do - make sure you have every crafing tool available and built, on display, and search for "hoe". One of them is bound to show it. Either that, or maybe you haven't advanced much on the tutorial, at what part are you?

let me see. i beat the first quest for the bugs...now im at the guy who wants coffe (witch is why i need to farm) and the moonbase one. allmostgot full steel.

and for the ship im at the part for the 3rd MM upgrade and the crystals to fix the FTL

For the coffee you don't need to farm! Just find a forest planet (it's important that says "forest" in it's description and there should be one in your starting system too) and just explore, the coffee stalks are on the surface. I explored a bit and found more than 16 seeds among several plants and some chests I found along the way. Hope it helps!

ah. can it be the better versions of the anvil? like the iron crafting table is after the wooden one then bluh bluh.

Nah, it's the starting anvil. I crafted a hoe in mine just a few hours ago. It's sprite has a green outline, make sure that the tutorial quests you're doing already took you to the point where the quest specifically talks about a hoe. Maybe that's the trigger you need.

ok. i got rid of my anvil. well i have it tis just in a chest. ill need to make another one because i am DEEP under the surface of a planet

I know the feeling. :p It can take an ungodly amount of time to get back to the surface, that usually makes me cringe very hard and I end up killing myself, since pixels aren't that important for me right now. I'm only at tier 2 yet.

The core fragments? No. Just for that one quest.

well maybe they will add more uses for them. like armour or tools. maybe as money. just be a waste for it to be used for one thing.

I know right? The second upgrade is probably the best upgrade out of all of them. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needed to get oil to transform iron into steel. I just went into a desert planet, and once I started finding tar instead of sand I knew I was on the right path. :p

And yeah, they should do something with that stuff in the future, right now it just makes you dig down and explore stuff and get the lay of the land, basically.
