Can't repair the FTL Drive

I did the mining facility mission on my friend's server today. As I turned in the crystals to S.A.I.L., the server crashed. Now the fix option is gone and the FTL drive is still broken.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it? I really don't want to restart my character.

It's bugged. You have to restart your character unless someone else here has another option.

This also means I'm going to have to get the techs again right? As far as I know there's no way to pull them out of your character once you've put the cards in.

Yes, but if you don't want to repeat that boring af early game again you can just spawn yourself the 20 Erchius Crystals or ask someone to buy you them on another character.
Point is, you'll have to restart, yes, but you can just spawn your stuff back. Take a note of stuff in the chests, start a new character, and just spawn it all back because to be honest this glitch is distressingly common.

The main thing I am worried about is the tech chips, because people on the subreddit were talking about how all of the spawns for the characters were the same so you could just put chests on a planet and pick up the stuff out of them. Even if that fails I can just get a friend of mine to fly me to the coords to pick it all up.

Tech Cards are very common. To begin with, you just need Double Jump and Dash, and two Tech Cards for them are given from starting quests. Once you've repaired FTL drive, infinite universe (and infinite Tech Cards) are open for you.

Also, you can (and probably should) place all your old character's items and craft stations on the plant; starting planet is the same for all your characters, so your new characters will have access to all your old things, which will guarantee a quick start. (You will also have access to your old core shaft.)

Nevermind, found out that in singleplayer if you type /admin, then /spawnitem shipT3 it gives you an item that upgrades your ship! No restart needed!

Adding this also happend to me but I was not on a multiplayer server, just basic opengl game. Spawning and or rerunning mission doesn't work, as the bug crash happens as you 'fix' the ftl drive. As such it is locked out and more crystals will do nothing.

I have had exactly the same issue: Server-Crash while finishing the Erchius Quest and FTL drive still not active, all Erchius Ore gone. This is a blocker bug and not "rare" !

/admin > /spawnitem shipT3 @SinglePlayer (with the mouse pointed somewhere inside the ship) does give you this item, use it to unlock the fuel thing.

Had this happen to me, so I spawned the Perfectly Generic Item with the shipt3 command, but the ship isn't being upgraded when I try to use it. I can't seem to figure out how to use the item.
