Where to find Plutonium?

Anyone else having trouble finding this stuff? Any ideas where to look?

I found 1 Plutonium ore underground on one of the early planets. Didn't bother looking for more though.

Checking underground in a moon is probably your best bet.

You can usually find the more valuable ores on the more difficult planets. So perhaps trying to go to one of those is a good idea :P

Go to the very bottom of a moon and you should find at least a few pieces. I mis-undestood the first mission and thought I was supposed to explore the moon in the starting system to find the crystals, so I found a bunch before I even had a use for it.

Middle of moons in the Fiery Star areas have the most plutonium I've come across... but it's still kinda rare. Had to explore near the core for nearly 40 minutes before finding enough.

For some reason, moon have them. Only good thing is there is no enemy to worry about (also no loot chests) but amount of Plutonium is sooo few you need to dig a lot to get sufficient amount.

Saw some plutonium when I was exploring the moon in my starting system. Died. Lost it.

Never went back... never had a use for it...

Last ship upgrade asked me for uranium, not plutonium... is it random?

Or are there more than 3 upgrades...?

Second to last upgrade. Last upgrade is like 20 solarium stars/20 diamonds? Eh, whatever it was, it was much easier than finding the plutonium...and oddly anticlimatic.

I haven't used plutonium once for anything (I don't even have any; couldn't have used it without noticing), and I think I have all the upgrades (class 3 ship, 4x4 matter manipulator)... I'm confused...

There's five ship upgrades.
