it's on xbox but playing the PC ver you can use mods there are FU mods, adult mods if you know where to look for them and mods in the workshop
Though 'Questionable' and not necessarily 'Adult' (i draw the line at genitals and visible aereola), Starpounds is amusingly a well put together (and sometimes funny) mod- for a fat-kink mod. (starbound was originally going to have 'fat' player bodytypes (obviously not to the same extent) but it was canned for the sake of not wanting to double the work on armors, it's hard to find but nuggubs documented an archived post of it)
It's not THAT jarring considering the 'fat' parts used by the monster generator and/or two-three of the pre-made monsters.
Even with it's 2D look, this game can be very resource intensive, so keep that in mind.
If you look at the positive reviews, the mongs are recommending it because it's good when modded but trash without. If a game can't stand on its own, it's not a good game.
Mods are ment to elevate games, not support them. People seem to have forgotten that for some reason.
Plus I use about 150 mods so that doesn't help with the memory issue.
I would still be playing the game, but I can barely hear any sound. And my sound is max out on my pc.
Is it worth the price? Not in the slightest. I wouldn't even suggest buying it if it were on sale. There are better options elsewhere.
Mods sadly do not fix things either. So if you're hoping for a game with a modding scene akin to Minecraft or Terraria, you will be disappointed.
We DO have a solid base here; Starbound is not necessarily about the combat or boss-fights, but the 'two handed' nature of things seems more... intuitive? I'm not sure. I enjoy building in Starbound more than I do Terraria.
I don't know. It's not unsalvagable, but... nobody will be able to agree on the direction to take.
We might have better chance with Kyora which comes from a different developer, despite being published by chuckledfish, but by the looks it's pmuch Terraria and besides the fact that the terrain and building systems are much more elaborate it doesn't offer anything different so it's gona require a lot of work to get any attention
Honestly the only game so far that holds a candle to Terraria and that hasn't been left to rot would be Noita although it's a different game but it's within the scope of it.
At the end of the day it really is a shame Starbound has all the potential and base work to be as much of a great game as Terraria, but sadly it was left as is, if you are interested it's best to get it on sales
U gonna have a feeling to see a amazing rework to the game.
