Hamachi is a program for making LAN networks over the internet.

With Hamachi I can host a server without forwarding ports that anyone on my Hamachi network would be able to join.

Yea... all 5 of them can join you.

Why do people seem to think port forwarding is the end of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ world. Oh no, I had to use 10 seconds out of my life to type in a few number...

It is super easy to run a starbound server, and takes actaully less time then setting up a hamachi server.

I think the main reason I would use hamachi is because I don't understand how port forwarding works.

NAT tunneling is good if you are stuck behind an ISP that uses NAT to keep it's users "secure". However Hamachi is terrible as the free service is minimal at best. Tunngle is Okay as long as you run their client. I haven't seen any other FREE NAT tunneling services though. Could google for more.
