I have Windows 7 Ultimate which will probably will not work.
or
And also I've noticed that it never showed up untill W10 showed up.
here is an screenshot of my visual c++ library:
i have three desktop computers running windows 10 pro 64bit, two of which upgraded from windows 8.1 pro and one of which is upgraded from windows 10 tp build 9926(?)>10130>10240, slow ring.
i have not seen visual c++ 2015 being attempted to download via windows updates...
---
maybe you have some programs which require this visual c++ 2015 version...
- Win7 SP1 Ultimate 64bit
- Win8.1 64bit
- Win10 Home 64bit & Pro 64bit
Do a clean OS install to rule out OS being corrupted; then before u start installing things like .NET Framwork or Visual C++; update your Win7 to SP1 if doesn't have that already, and also update all the rest of Windows Updates til they are all current, and nothing Important is left to download from WU. For Win7, make sure you get the Optional "Platform" related Updates too.
For a clean WinOS you will need these:
DirectX Redist (June 2010)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
Visual C++ (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003
Visual C++ (2015)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
Nothing for Visual C++ will download from Windows Updates, until they've been installed, and thus then u may get VC Updates from WU.
I'll get the past VCDis programs to see if the VCDis 2015 one will install.
Install the latest Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 first, then Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable.
Hope this helps (it helped me).
Long answer:
The problem i had was i was receiving the following message when launching several programs:
"The procedure entry point ucrtbase.abort could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll."
After a quick search it is easy to find that this error is somehow related to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable missing, so i went on to download it. The problem is that it would not install, giving me an error of "setup failed".
This is what i did and managed to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable (x64 - although i dont think it matters anyway):
I am in Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
1) I installed Service Pack 1 first (i am really not sure if that helped or not).
2) I installed the latest Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6
3) Installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable worked !
The problems with the "The procedure entry point ucrtbase.abort could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll." error dissapeared.
PS: It all started after an installation of the new Microsoft Office 2016 which after a quick search is known to cause issues with Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable.
program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dl is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". So I reinstall it (Which will OBVIOUSLY not work),
and I GET THE SAME THING!! I looked this problem up online and found that api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is actually part of Visual C++, so i'm guessing it didn't install because the process didn't actually finish. So please help!
This issue only happens with people who have an underlying issue with their windows installation. Has nothing to do with the game or any other other application.
Either the Windows Updater is corrupted - or a update which is required by windows has not been installed.
You can try microsofts tool to see if the issue is with the updater specifically.

If it can't repair it - you will have to repair your windows installation - as the issue means there is potentially a far more serious issue at hand which is not apparent.
how to install it on pirated windows 8.1 64bit?
yeah, no way
i had the same problem with: Elder Scrolls Online game and the vcredist 2015.
Running on Windows 10, 64bit.
What solved it in my case was:
- navigate to the Launcher of the app at your steamlibrary path, example:
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\Launcher
- run manually as an admin the
vcredist_x64_2015.exe
vcredist_x86_2015.exe
- go through the install process of both.
- restart your PC.
After that the error mesages for "vcredist_x86_2015.exe not found" were gone when starting ESO.
I hope this helps!
My solution on windows7 was download and install the following. In the error message, it should give you the version redistro version required (currently, for me, it was 14.0.23026)
https://npackd.appspot.com/p/com.microsoft.VisualCPPRedistributable/14.0.23026
https://npackd.appspot.com/p/com.microsoft.VisualCPPRedistributable64/14.0.23026
You may have to repair your current visualCppRedistro install. To do that, go to "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" and double click the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015.." entries for x86 and x64, then "Repair"
