How do i Upgrade my ship with Upgrade Module

This might be a dumb question to ask but here i go. I'm running out of space in my ship and im trying to find out how to upgrade without admin privilages. I was reading a Tool Tip on the Upgrade Module and it said used to Upgrade ships and other Strong Equipment.

you can get a bigger ship by doing quest at the outpost than talking to the shady looking guy to the right of the teloportaion market

And that´s alkways the case.
Do the stgoryline-Quest and you get better crafting abilities.

Do all sidequests ... and you get the ability to upgrade your ship.
But you need upgrade modules and diamonds for the actual upgrade of your ship.
(with an ever increasing number, the higher you get on the upgrade ladder)
