However, that mod has been seriously outdated and abandoned. So a bunch of other people updated it and are keeping it running:
http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/avali-triage.2852/
It's also popular enough its got its own Wikia thing, which provides lore for them:
http://avali.wikia.com/wiki/The_Official_Avali_Wiki
As much as it would benefit both the Game and the Mod if it became official, the Avali will never be intergrated (spellcheck) by Chucklefish, mainly due to legal reasons: The original creator has either pulled a dissapearing act or completely lost interest in Starbound altogether, leaving his mod to rot and be restored by the community.
Since when has that stopped them.
When the creator of the Avali race mod first made it, it was more a sort of experiment to see what he can do with the Starbound game engine for such a complex race he made. He did not truely expect it to get this popular. Now, seeing that he has discovered that the game engine for Starbound is not as flexable as he would like, the mod maker has stopped supporting the official mod and has no plans to continue it. However, he has approved of continuing the Avali race mod's existence here and is still working with the Avali race to date. He is even preparing a overhaul of the Wiki, though no one knows when he'll be done with it.
However, since the mod maker basically owns the race itself, I don't think we'll be implmenting Avali into the main game anytime soon.
i'm no fan of mods, it allows the game developer to be lazy. i mean, who needs to put in content or bug fixes when the unwashed masses will do it for you?
pure BS in my opinion. i wouldn't be suprised if in the future pc games stop being made and developers just release nothing but platforms to build on.
but mods are what i use to bring in what i want something from another game, a better way to play, new mechanics, there are so many things modding improves apon.
but we all have our thoughts, ive honestly never heard anyone say though "i dont like modding" except on console.
and why did you necro a post from last year.?
i dunno
