Challenge Rooms
New player here, how about some kind of warning that challenge rooms can only be tried once? Nothing turns me off to a game faster than a cheap death resulting in a bunch of missed stuff. My first challenge room killed me with environmental hazards causing me to lose out on the weapon that I found, which would have been the first non-sidegrade that I've gotten so far. Not being able to to try again, and not knowing how rare these doors are (I would have saved it for when I was more prepared had there been ANY kind of warning that it was only doable once.) is really souring the early experience for me. Combined with how slow progression feels, I might have to head back to Terraria.

And there's no map function? wtf? It took me forever just to get back to where I thought the door was, only to have to google why the door disappeared.

Why do you think it's called a challenge room and not a "trial and error until you get the reward that is supposed to be hard to get but oh well we give you infinite trys" room?

There are tons of games where you can retry challenges. Some very difficult games let you retry challenges. There is absolutely nothing about "challenge room" that says "one time only".

Especially in a game that can kill you so quickly and easily in your first few hours. Had there been any warning I would have waited a bit to try it.

cmon guys they are boring, once you have the wall climbing sphere tech and a grapling hook thee rooms are as much a challange as taking a dump.
And rewards are also very "meh". so they are just another hasty unfinished broing unconnected feature of the game.

There are two hats that are obtainable ONLY though challenge rooms. The challenge room where you get to save a rabbit or a cat. They're a bunny on your head (not to be confused by the bunny mask you can find in the avian temple mission) and a fluffy white cat on your head (not to be confused with the black one that can either be found in a forward facing version or a backward facing version in random chests).

You sure about that? Survival doesn't make you lose your weapons. Only consumables and most crafting items.

Not to mention challenge rooms are like missions... nothing drops in them. Sounds like you got a non-or-hard-to-replicate-glitch.
