Any point to doing random quests?
Is there any point to doing random quests you get from npcs in random towns on random planets besides a microscopic amout of pixels/reward bag?

Not that I know of. Then again, I didn't play much after 1.0 (Outdated VC Redist.)

There's a chance for a crew member to spawn.

Is that true? If anyone can confirm please comment, because this makes them seem more worthwhile.

Ayy, it is. I made a settlement just so I could get an entire occult avian crew.

AFAIK questing is pretty much the only way to get crew members without mods. This works when doing quests for colonies you've built too.

Doing missions turns NPCs into potential crewmembers; having enough allows you to upgrade your ship for no pixel charge.
Colony NPCs can give achievements.

And
Just get in a habit of talking to every npc after you do a quest, sometimes they don't tell you they want to join until you talk first

Their clothing will change/look different after returning to the NPC and turning in the mission. It's easily noticable.

first, there's chance of rare weapon
second, chane of high tech furnature (over durasteel tech)
therd, rare decorative items (costume, furnature...)

and if u repeat quest for one NPC, that NPC will join as your crew, and crew number gives u permission for high level ship licence.

Sure sometimes you get good stuff from the reward bags and most quests are really easy like the escort missions or the item gathering ones
