Can't craft pickaxes nor wood collecting axes?

Ok im an OLD player and by old i mean i got this game when it first came out way back then. i got bored of waiting for updates like many of us here and just heard that 1.0 is FINALLY out.. Well im having tons of fun so far :P

However.. I cant seem to find a way to make pickaxes nor the old wood collecting hatchet/axes??? Did they remove them? :c

Yes and No. They are still there, but they are un-craftable, and are found in chests (I think the hatchets were removed entirely, though). Rejoice, however, as the Matter Manipulator can be upgraded to effectively be a never-ending Diamond Pickaxe.

Crafting pickaxes was REMOVED so that you'll basically only use the MM as your only choice. The stone axe is removed too so you ONLY use the MM.

You can find as loot or buy pickaxes from the bear shop at the outpost. But they cannot be repaired and lose durability very quickly.

The only infinite pickaxe is the legendary energy pickaxe and its awful. By the time you find it, your MM will most likely be better.

No. It has infinite durability. But its slow to mine and annoying to use do to the energy blade part needing to form each time.
