[Solved] Destroyer of worlds achievement
Hello,

Destroyer of worlds achievement :
"Move a planet's worth of blocks. If you weren't using a Matter Manipulator you'd be ripped"

People told me I need to mine 10,000,000 blocks is that true?

If yes ->

if you use the matter manipulator full optimized 5x5 = 25 blocks

In the best case, imagine you only mine dirt blocks.

it means in average, you won't get more than 25 blocks per second. Because even if it needs less than one second to get this pack of 25, the time the animation is playing you falling to the next 25 blocks below makes one full second finally.

25 blocks per second, means ->

10,000,000 / 25 = 400,000 seconds

+6666 minutes -> arround 111 hours of non stop mining !!!!

And this scenario is speaking about dirt blocks at a rate of 25 per second, that's not realist. For, you'll meet most of the time holes, and other block's type like rock, etc..., needing more time to be taken.

I think you can multiply these 111 hours by 3 or 4 or even more.

Knowing in the game you don't only mine, it is an achievement based on the time you'll play, a no life one, devs want you to spend like more 1000 hours on the game sure. I don't think It is retroactive, so players who already mined blocks between 2013 and now, does not count?

I hope devs will make it balanced in the next days, seriously, it makes players to try to cheat, exploit the game or something else, to get it, there is no fun of this kind of 'chiev.

I like this game, and achievements but this one no !

Regards.

Thnaks for the calculus part.
But, yeah, this achievement is pretty much impossible to do.
The only way to do it in a decent time should be with a script/ /admin mode maybe.

You have to admit that it is an achievement though, in the true sense of the word. I don't get why there is so much fuss on this particular achievement. Maybe people should try on the Football Manager achievements on for size?

I'm pretty sure there was a gears of war achievement that would send these people into a panic attack or something of the sort.

I think we could be able to get it on a second playthrough without even try it.
Just build ^^ !

Yeah and add to that a list of achievements that can no longer be obtained...

There was also a strategy game that gives you an acheivment for beating a dev, and yet years later some guy finally got in contact with one and was able to arange a match and won.

Well that sounds like an insane accomplishment that looks suspiciously like it's made to pad out gametime.
Who wants to make the mod?

Early, early days, when I participated more frequently on the Chucklefish general discussion board, someone asked about user challenges.

This is basically what I suggested: entirely remove a planet's blocks. Not remove X quantity across the universe, just remove one planet's entire set of blocks.

I still intend to do it, even if I get the achievement just from hunting fossils (and maybe bugs, if there are cave bugs).

Yep. Seriously 3.0 was the acheivement. Earn all the badges. Each badge was an acheivement. 10000 kills with each weapon. 1000 times played on a certain map and mode. Ect. It was insane. ♥♥♥♥ that.

Omg, how to be sure? It is even worse than what I could imagine xD
Hello everyone, I am back with it unlocked ! Legit, but clever ^^

I read and followed the way here (second message by Rvalvik, thanks to him):

http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/278044/which-are-the-exact-requirements-for-the-destroyer-of-worlds-achievement

I had tons of dirt blocks in chest I equiped (enough to be full -> 40,000). Right before putting this trap full of lava (collected in deep, with matter manipulator) bellow the spawn, and everytime you die, you recover your blocks in a fraction of seconds, and die etc... it adds, adds, adds again and again blocks collected,... to do until reaching the achievement 10 millions blocks.

In fact this 'chiev is based on blocks collected, not the ones destroyed !!! It is confirmed ^^ and it is 10 millions sure. Any type of blocks (if not wrong).

Needs time, time to respawn etc..., but it is really really better than mining like a full planet !

Have good and hard work people !

Doesn't work for casuals. Because apparently casual mode is more hardcore.
