Frame Drops? Stuttering? TRY THIS!!!!

ok, I'm not going to lie this game runs terrible for me on the default settings. Its all fine and dandy for me until I come across a large village or certain boss fights or a friend joining my game; thats when all hell gets released.The game will drop frames and start screen tearing even with the vsync on...causing a terrible experience of fps drops and stutter. If this is happening to you, I have found a simple way to remedy this problem.

here is what I did:
turn in-game vsync setting off (located in steam starbound/storage config file)

then in nvidia control panel:
Force adaptive vsync (half refresh rate)
max pre rendered frames : 1

The game will render at 30 fps but I no longer get stuttering or screen tearing. This has helped me tremendously to enjoy the game. As well, enjoy a better zoom level. I hope it can help others

1080p 60Hz monitor, fullscreen

I think I have found the best of both worlds. I couldn't stand to play with 30 fps. True I got no stutters. But it was unbearable for me.

Use the same method above only change the V-sync to just Adaptive instead of adaptive vsync (half refresh rate)

It still does it but I think, but not as much. If it doesn't work for you. You might try combinding this methood with the multi threaded cores mod. That is what I use. Not sure if it was the combination of the two or just this.
