Random people joining when I play solo?

I just made a new character and played by myself and some people started connecting 5 mins later? I want to play solo and I was wondering how to turn it off

are they from you friends list?

In the options menue uncheck the box next to the multiplayer via steam thing. It will stop people from joining you.

no they are random people, I think I fixed it by unchecking all those boxes, thanks.

You have a whopping 240 steam friends, you probably don't even know they're on your list

I imagine it's difficult to tell the difference between "random people" and "friends" when you have 240 people on your list.

You need to stop having random people added as friends simple as that mate. They aren't "random people" UNLESS you buy a lot of your games off of G2A where they are listed as steam gifts sent to you from them. than yea that's going to happen, because they get randomly added to your friends list so they can actually send you the gift automatically. So in all truth tis your own fault mate. but looks like you fixed the issue so good on yeah.

Any chance the people who joined are in the same groups you are in?
