Core lava
Why exactly is it there other than to be annoyance? Why not have blocks that cant be broken?

Note - I died in it and lost most of my stuff :(

Because the core of a planet is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hot. That's the mantle, not the core anyway.

Probably because there's lava under the crust of our planet.

I understand thats science, but gameplay wise why not stop the player before they hit it?

Play casual if you don't want to lose stuff.

Makes it more risky to dig down that far I guess.

I guess I can agree, but there is pretty much nothing important down there other than cores and dimonds (at least on my planet)

You can gather lava anywhere else, but the new cores are hands off buddy.

Doesn't make sense even since you can drain lava oceans for infinity and beyond. As well as drain anything else.

Good source of lava for people who haven't gotten that far into the game yet.

The core lava is present for many reasons!

  • To keep you nice and warm
  • For you to dig through a tile and randomly plunge into it for a lovely hot bath
  • To take your items when you aren't looking
  • CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKES!
  • Because it lavas you long time :3

I am sure there are plenty of other reasons but these are the most important ones to remember. :fhappy:

Shouldn't some planets also have solid cores though?

The Lava is the Mantle, I mean.

Well can't you have some planets without magma? I've yet to go the center of starbound's moons. Is there magma there?
