Not as far as I'm aware. The game is just a linear path to the end. There is no hidden meta at the end of the progression. You can see, at the beginning of the game, everything you'll be upgrading. You finish the upgrades and then that's it. You wander around until you get bored or "build things" that you could have just done in a program. Funny thing is, you could actually get paid for building things in a program... Why do it in a game?
You could say the same exact thing about Terraria though. After you defeat the moonlord there isn't anything really to work towards anymore unless you want to collect all the high tier weapons and armour.
The thing this game has to compete with isn't Terraria. It's Minecraft.
You realize creating things in this game functions exactly the same as it does in a program right? Pick a texture block, use your mouse to start placing things...
Murdering a hooker in real life is significantly different and requires different tools than in GTA. For example, good luck using a mouse click or a controller to murder her. I suppose you could use the cable...
Seriously, programming a video with just minecraft blocks? daaaaang bro
Wtf are you talking about? I'm saying "Why make 2D towns/dungeons/castles in a game when you can make the exact same quality 2D town/dungeon/castle in a program and actually get it put in a game."
Also, Starbound has more content than minecraft? Really?
Infinitely generated overworld, multiple dimensions. While traveling said overworld, a storm can happen that causes a pouring of enemies around you. Unique enemies like Creepers and Endermen. Enchanting. Boats. Mounts. Villages. Villages get attacked. Crafting. Dungeons. Bosses. Cooking. Maps that fill in while you explore. Better building. Better graphics. Environment can be effected by fire and lightning. Trees that grow in multiple stages.
I could keep listing forever, but Minecraft is superior to this game in almost every way.
Not an argument against my statement. Why build in this game when you could do the same thing but in better programs or games? My point being that Starbound has to offer MORE than just building.
