A question about fridges or "refrigerated storage"

the answer's most likely in the name of the storage but do refridgerator's actually delay a food's decay time or is it just for show?

yet another dumb question by me

it actually seems to prevent them from decaying, i have two fridges and i have yet to see food run out of time when stored.

I've been using them for quite some while and I've never found spoiler food inside of one before. So as far as I know they prevent decay.

I still have food in my fridges from literally two or three days ago. It completely "Freezes" (HA!) their decay.

Yeah, refrigerated storages are useful. But all of the food I had left out of mine gave me the, "Cold," shoulder.
