How to get Penguin crewmember

You get the crew off of tenants but how do you get the penguin that allows you to change the costume and such? o_o

As a ship crewmember? You have to defeat the Dreadnip first (a sidequest from the penguin in the underground outpost bar), then you have to have at least 3 diamonds and 5000 pixels in order to buy a dubloon, which lets you hire penguin mercenaries onto your crew.

i don't know if you need the 5000 pixels.
it just says in the item description that its value is 5000 pixels, but you only need 3 diamonds to trade for it if im not mistaken.

Right, I can confirm once you have beaten Dreadwing for the Beak Easy barkeep you can trade 3 Diamonds for a Dubloon which will let you hire one of the mercs [Its how I got my first crewmen]

Do any of you know the way to get the tailor onto your ship? On the wiki it showed as a penguin so maybe theres a special quest for that since all the penguins at the bar are soliders?
