theyre not invinsible but they are very strong and the likeliness of them dieing is extremeley rare.

Hehehe, no. While the crewmembers may not be strong, I cannot say that they are not work taking along on missions and planets, especially medics and outlaws.

To answer the question, everytime a crewman dies, the return to ship. Whether it's a mission, a plant, or even on the ship itself, all you have to do is return to ship and there they'll be. They won't even be idle, simply going to your ship and back will get them to go with you again.
