Some pretty weird water physics...
I was trying out healing water conversion on an ocean world, and managed to get most of the underground underwater. Eventually i even hit the core, but disaster struck... I mean sure normal lava doesn't affects healing water, and even has weird physics... But i noticed Healing Water being converted into lava by the core... Which means if i let it flood, it will essentially convert ALL of my healing water into lava... Not sure how that works but thats pretty bad.

Healing water conversion?

If you do not surrender immediately, I will place a quantity of the changed Water of Life over a spice-blow, and the resulting chain reaction will destroy everything you love.

Basically, the healing water turned into lava once it hit the core of the planet. I shudder to think what would happen if it hit the ocean on an ocean planet. Instant conversion of death. And core lava cannot be harvested!

All liquid combinations
At least you know that Healing Water + Core Lava = Core Lava. I'd be tempted to test with other liquids though, but i'd picture it all convert the same. Maybe asking the game staff might help know what they did to core lava. That or ask a modder to check the code for said liquid, since it's different than Lava.

It might just be displacing the core lava, causing more core lava to generate and flood outward.

Out of curiosity, do you still get normal fish mob spawns in an ocean world converted to healing water?

I neglected to mention that you can't convert entire oceans. Fluid dumped in oceans just converts to the ocean (lava ocean, water ocean, poison ocean). Oceans are "special," these interactions only apply to pools of liquid, but those pools of liquid may be very large.

I think so. And mainly, i was also testing more things. Healing water under an ocean made it all except the ocean itself, become healing water. I noticed that if the ocean had a background, so could it be converted into healing water. Same for the core. With a background, it cannot make more in said area. So no background seems to influence it, and i doubt anyone have the patience to make everything a background at the core or at the ocean itself.

Also, i don't think so. I've used liquid stacks and noticed the core lava actually increasing past where it should, and never lowering. Pretty much it's dangerous if it can convert healing water to core. Don't know any other liquids yet, but this experiment helps me realize how dangerous the core is, and that no amount of liquid will let you block it... Just convert it into more lava regardless of what type of liquid it is.

Oceans can be removed if the background is used, far as i tested on ocean worlds with water. Having no background makes it always have water, and having a background lets you remove it and convert it.

Ah ok, thanks. I thought I could just dump a little healing water into an ocean and turn the entire planet to healing water, but I was afraid to try on the one I'm currently at because I'm building a base there and didn't want to mess up spawns or something.

Core lava expanding isn't too dangerous because it only does stuff when you are nearby. There used to be a bug where certain points in the core were broken and just endlessly spitting out lava, if you stayed around down there it would just keep flooding upwards endlessly, but as soon as you moved far enough upward to unload the core it stopped flooding. It's like filling deep areas with oceans, you have to keep going up to load the ocean so more water will drain down and fill your tunnels. It's an interesting situation you described, and possibly a bug, but I wouldn't worry about it ruinning your world or anything.
