Places where you can find armor?

I need silk and cotton to make new armor and it's gonna take a while to find them but my defense is really low and I'd like some new armor.
Do you guys know if there's a place where I can buy armor or just find it in the crates?
And do you know where I can find silk?

You can try to find merchants who sell armor (often sells 1 piece of armor but their pretty good for early game), you can find them in towns or around the planet randomly (try desert and forest planets in gentle stars.)

You get silk by building moth traps and setting them down outdoors. Then they fill up eventually, and you simply need to use them when they are full.

Armour can be bought off of traders in settlements you find on planets. But that will take a LOT more time than making your own. And finding a better suit of gear will be very difficult. Just make a farm for cotton and silk. It will pay off.

I already bought armor from the merchants and couldn't find anything stronger for now.

Oh, that sounds pretty cool! How can I build a moth trap? Which station do I have to use and upgrade?

I already made a colony on a planet so I guess I'll build a house for myself and make a farm. :)
But do I have to water my crops regularly or rain will do just fine? How long does it take for plants to grow?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Not sure about the whole farming thing yet but I'll try and see haha
